While talking to someone who is among the most forward implementors of AI solutions in the enterprise, we both agreed that where agents are deployed is still very much in flux.

One solution that has proven very effective for us is Google Apps Script, running in Google Sheets. The scripts can be deployed via clasp.

Where it lives: Google Apps Script bound to a Google spreadsheet and its script. A function such as sendReminder(). How it fires: A GAS time-based trigger, ScriptApp.newTrigger('sendReminder').timeBased(). Runs in Google's cloud, zero dependency on any local device.

What it does each fire: calls Grok (grok-3-latest) with a system prompt giving it a 'witty AI trapped in a spreadsheet cell' persona; temperature 1.2 for high variance; falls back to a canned message if the call fails; sends via MailApp.sendEmail. The GAS runs as the script owner so emails arrive from that account. Manual fire via spreadsheet menu.
